I live in Florida where the humidity is a monster. Frizziness is something oh so hard to battle here. My cousin bought a PHI and I was going to her house every weekend to use it. It made my thick, wavy, frizzy unmanagable hair, smooth shiny and gorgeous. I was getting so many compliments on it that I finally bought one of my own. That was six years ago. It was used every other day for 6 years. Its been to 8 states through airport baggage claim, its been dropped several times, the cord wrapped thousands of times. With the help of my boyfriend, I re- soldered the wires behind the plates together and used industrial strength hi-temp metal glue to put the plates back in when they have fallen out. Through all of that, it still preformed excellent. Finally it was being held together with tape and a rubber band. My boyfriend's sweet mother, thought it was time I had a new flat iron. So she bought me a Cricket. This thing pulled my hair, didn't get hot enough, took FOREVER to striaghten my hair,and didn't keep the frizz away. After one month of having the cricket, the enamel started coming off the plates. That was it for me. I went back to using my old PHI and finally last week, it stopped working. I got every penny's worth out of it. I went out and bought another PHI. Hands down its the best one on the market. I'll never use another one.

I have horribly frizzy curly hair. I recently went to the salon when they used all the PHI products. Then I bought the PHI straightener. It was worth all of the money. I have never loved my hair. Now it is soft (I can't believe it) and smooth. Even if it breaks tomorrow, it's still worth it!

I LOVE my new PHI flat iron. It heats up quickly and is easy to use. I have relatively short hair and with a little "twist" of the wrist, I have great lift to my hair. All my girls now own one.

I am African American with dry hair. Whenever I wash my hair goes curly and it is a nightmare to get it straight. Other irons would break my hair and fry it. It was horrible but I love this PHI. It is AMAZING. I can wash my hair, let it air dry and then straighten it with no extra product and my hair is soft, moisturized (although that may have to do with the Aussie products I use) and light. Its like my stylist was at my house. I take this with me everywhere! BUY IT.

This is the best hair straightener I have ever used! And, trust me, I've used many! This one is simply fabulous, just go over your hair once, and it's perfectly straight! Before, I had to go over the same pieces of hair like 5 times, before it got straight. I highly recommend this straightener, just make sure you use a heat protector when using it!!!

I absolutely love this straightner! It works better than anything I ever owned!!! If you are looking for a quality (the best) straightner - look no further. This is the one for you. I highlight my hair but the PHI doesn't damage it. I recommend using the CHI Keratin spray and CHI Silk Infusion with your PHI. I am a first time owner of a PHI and using the PHI products, but I'm sold for as long as they are making these products!!

Well I got my PHI like a year and a few months ago... and now it is STILL working great! It is worth every dollar. To keep your flat iron in good condition just make sure you don't EVER wrap the cord around it. My friend got one a few months after I got mine and hers is already shutting off on its own due to the fact that she wraps her cord around her iron.

I got this Christmas 2006, I loved it so much!
It got my hair stick straight and lasted all day.
Around JUly 2007, I turned it on, and the light didn't come on. I reset it and everything.. and nothing. Then, when I tilted it it came on and tilted it back it went off. I think there was a short, but they let us send it back.

i got this PHI last feb for my birthday and ive loved it since day one. ive used the black chi as well and they both work pretty much exactly the same. im glad i bought the PHI =]

i got the PHI at marshalls and honesty I was dissapointed. the plates weren't cceramic and it pulled my hair. it takes forever to heat up and you can't adjust the heat settings. i don't reconmend this flat iron

After owning a CHI iron for about two years, my hair started getting caught between it's plates. After buying the PHI at Marshall's, I was thoroughly impressed. Although it doesn't have an indicator of optimum heat, it is 100% ceramic. Only other iron on the market with 100% ceramic plates costs $450. This thing is awesome, and puts my CHI to shame.

Be careful ordering this product through this website. I wish I were able to make an overall rating on the straighener, but I'm unable to since I never recieved my product. Instead of contacting me that the shippment was unable to be recieved I had to notify them multiple times along with leaving messages. Messages were never returned, and when I finally was able to get ahold of them, they told me to call back at their convenience instead of contacting me(the buyer). I have ordered several products from other websites, but this experience is the first time I have been completely dissatisfied with the lack of customer service!

i have semi-wavy hair that is dry and i love this straightener!! i got it yesterday and i used it once i got home. it made my hair shiny and smooth.oh my goodness!! everyone should go buy one of these! i bought mine at marshalls for 24.99!! less that half the price! i give this iron 5 out of 5 stars!

I have somewhat wavy thick hair and I loved this straightner for about 6 months! After a while, something built up on the plates and now it does a horrible job straightening my hair. I bought it at TJ Maxx for super cheap, so I guess it was not a huge loss.

my boyfriend bought me this from tj max today 01/17/2010 i have FRIED hair i mean fried it was long it all fel out to my shoulders and shorter its layered now not by choice except the bleaching was by choice lol using this straightener for the first time earlier worked amazing it blended it blended all of my hair together unable to see how fried it is now i love it i will always use this one from now on it ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! BUY ONE ITS A MUST!!!!

I really want to get an extra travel iron...and this was one of my choices, but i went with another option because of the voltage, outside of the US and Canada they use 220v..this only goes to 140v...sad though, because i really wanted to try this iron :-)

The plates on my Phi broke after too many accidental drops on the floor so i decided to get another but I couldn't find any at Marshalls. So I decide to get an FHI from Sallys (on sale). Needless to say, I am back to using my Phi, I bought heat resistant glue to mend the plate and I'm good. this iron makes my hair shiny and straight, the FHI was a waste of $, doesn't get hote enough.

this flat iron is simply wonderful. Switch it on and it'll work wonders. I got this today at marshalls for only $19.99! For the price that i got it for,it works amazing! After i use this my hair is really smooth and soft. It heats up in less than 30 seconds which is very convenient. If you are thinking about getting this flat iron,i recommend you to check out your local tj maxx or marshalls. If you are looking for a flat iron that works amazing,this is the one for you!
